Earlier this week, pest control officials announced Canada’s top 25 cities for sleeping in the worst places. That list was compiled based on the number of commercial and residential bed bug treatments performed by the company in 2023.
According to the agency, Vancouver fell from second to sixth place in this year’s rankings, while Sudbury moved up to second and Oshawa to third.
In addition, Winnipeg moved up the rankings to seventh place on the list.
Winnipeg also ranked 11th in 2022 but cracked the top 10 this year.

Orkin Canada is reminding residents and visitors to be vigilant and watch for the signs of bed bugs to avoid the spread of bed bugs.

“As we see travel return to pre-pandemic levels, Canadians should be wary of bed bugs. Bed bugs are extremely resilient and can easily hitchhike from place to place without anyone noticing. Because they can move,” said Dr. Alice Sina, an entomologist at Orkin Canada. In a statement.
“Bed bugs, known as master hitchhikers, invade new spaces by clinging to clothing, luggage, and furniture, hiding in baseboards, appliances, bedding, wallpaper, wall hangings, sofas, etc.,” she continued.
