Toronto’s running community appears to be on thin ice, with residents saying they’ve had enough.
Residents are holding online sports days and sharing personal stories, such as how they met a group of runners in the city.
But one TikToker named Zulf (@zulllfff) who spearheaded the conversation called the group a gang worth fearing.
In a video that has garnered more than 2 million views in a week, she said she has only ever had negative interactions with them.
“I’ve just been attacked by the most terrifying gang. If you see me, I better get stuck in traffic because I’ll get physically attacked. These people don’t care and I don’t want anything like this to happen to me. “This is not the first time this has happened,” she said.
She also talked about the time she and her sister saw 50 people running towards them and had nowhere to go. She said the group was on the sidewalk and road.
Other creators have also jumped on board and shared their own stories.
“They’ve taken advantage of us pedestrians and Torontonians. One thing I can’t stand about these people is that they think they own the streets,” TikTok user @ vtxri33 shared in a video that has been viewed by over 350,000 people in less than a week.
She even described the club as a “herd of buffalo” running towards you.
And even if others couldn’t relate, at least they enjoyed it.
“I love the Toronto Running Club drama,” one user wrote.
“Don’t Toronto have parks?” someone else said.
People all over the world were also caught up in our mess.
“Do I live in the UK? Yes. Am I invested in this Toronto Running Club beef? Absolutely,” one person said.
“As a random girl in Dallas, Texas, I was scared that the Toronto running club was just around the corner,” another woman chimed in.
Many people pointed to the Toronto Running Club (TRC) being involved, but organizers told Now Toronto in an email that this was not the case.
The TRC said residents were talking about large groups running through downtown on Tuesday.
“We’re running in Midtown on Wednesdays. There’s nowhere near downtown, and we have a small group. And we’re polite!” shared.
