Chandra Arya, a longtime Trudeau supporter, says it’s time for the prime minister to step down and believes the majority of Liberals in his caucus feel the same way.
“We have no choice but to replace the leadership now,” Alia told CBC’s chief political correspondent Rosemary Barton on Sunday.
He was responding to questions about what was discussed at a virtual meeting of the Ontario Liberal Caucus on Saturday morning.

Housefather said the first priority is for Trudeau to resign, without naming any possible successors.
Liberals ‘don’t deserve a second chance’: NDP
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh wrote a letter Friday pledging to introduce a motion of no confidence in an effort to topple the Liberal government. This is the first time he has said he intends to do so.
It is unclear when that will happen or whether he will support other opposition motions.
“The Liberal Party does not deserve a second chance,” Singh’s letter said. “I asked Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to resign, and he should.”

Despite the political turmoil, the prime minister’s cabinet says they will continue to work for Canadians, whom Employment, Workforce Development and Labor Minister Stephen McKinnon described as “the boss.”
“We’re listening very carefully to what they have to say,” MacKinnon told Rosemary Burton.
Mr McKinnon said the Liberal Party had a “very strong and diverse caucus”, but MPs were a team. “I’m part of the team and I’m part of this prime minister’s team.”
Prime Minister Trudeau is said to be contemplating his political future. The prime minister is visiting the capital region on Sunday, with no official events listed on his itinerary.
