Lindsay Lohan and other cast members reunite for Walmart ad
Gretchen Winners may not have been able to “make” her iconic catchphrase “fetch” come true, but… mean girls Stay relevant.
It’s been about 20 years since this youth comedy movie was released in 2004. mean girls remains popular.
Not only will teens (the film is rated PG-13) watch the original movie, but they’ll also have new ways to experience the story, including upcoming new movies and Broadway musicals.
Plus, a recent surprise reunion…sort of.

1. Original Mean Girls cast reunites for Walmart ad

The two-minute ad was posted on YouTube on November 1st to promote retail giant Walmart’s Black Friday sale.
The ad features Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert reprising their roles, but this time as adult versions.
The ad stars Lohan’s Cady Heron as a high school career guidance counselor, Seyfried’s Karen Smith as a weather reporter, and Chabert’s Gretchen Winners as a teenage girl’s mother.

The script incorporates classic scenes and quotes from the film to promote Walmart and its products.
Another surprise cameo appearance is hip hop Artist Missy Elliott plays a high school coach.
A notable absence was Canadian actor Rachel McAdams, who played mean girl Regina George in the 2004 film.
2. A stage musical based on the movie is touring in parts of Canada.
A musical version of the film premiered on Broadway in New York in 2018.
The stage show has since toured, including parts of Canada.

It will also be coming to Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver in January 2024.
The musical’s script was written by actor and comedian Tina Fey, who co-wrote the 2004 film.This is primarily based on her 2002 book Queen bee and queen bee candidate Written by Rosalind Wiseman.
3. Renee Rapp to star in 2024 film version of musical scheduled to premiere in January
The film adaptation of the musical is scheduled to be released in theaters on January 12, 2024.
Pop singer and actor Renee Rapp plays Regina George. Rapp originally played Regina on Broadway in 2019.

In addition to the addition of musical numbers, the film also includes updates and changes from the original film.
Two cast members from 2004 will be returning.
Faye will return as Ms. Norbury.she joins her companions saturday night live Alumnus Tim Meadows returns as Principal Duvall.
