Kamala Harris distanced herself from President Joe Biden and criticized her Republican presidential rival Donald Trump in a fiery interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier on Wednesday.
“To be clear, my presidency is no different than Joe Biden’s,” Harris told the conservative news network after Baier asked if the vice president would do anything different than the incumbent. It’s not a continuation,” he said.
“And like every new president taking office, I’m going to bring my own life experience, my professional experience, my fresh new ideas,” the Democratic nominee said.
The 26-minute interview focused on immigration, with Harris again criticizing President Trump for vetoing bipartisan legislation aimed at addressing the crisis at the southern border.
The interview was tense from the first interaction, with Beyer repeatedly interrupting Harris’ opening answers about immigration. “Let me finish…I’m in the process of answering the points you’re making, but I want to finish,” Harris said early on.
