A senior official from Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign said Friday that she “fully expects” Donald Trump to declare victory before all votes are counted on election night.
But “that’s not going to work,” the official told reporters.
“He has done the same thing before. He failed,” the official said at a press conference, speaking on condition of anonymity, according to the report. NBC News. “If I tried again, I would fail.”
The official said Republican candidate Trump is “constantly lying” and had already tried to “sow doubt about his expected defeat” against Democratic candidate and current Vice President Harris on Tuesday. He said there was.
“In the meantime, we want to make sure that every voter has the information to go to the polls, feels safe and secure, and that we intend to protect the vote, and that we “We’re focused on making sure they know they’re going to vote. Whatever Mr. Trump and his campaign do, we’re going to make sure it matters.” the official said.
The call came in the wake of President Trump’s baseless claims of massive “fraud” in voting in Pennsylvania, a key election battleground state.
“Report misconduct to the authorities. Law enforcement must act now!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social on Wednesday.
For four years, Trump has falsely claimed that he won the 2020 election, not President Joe Biden.
He faces possible criminal charges in federal court in Washington, D.C., and state court in Atlanta in connection with his attempts to overturn his loss to Biden.
