As seen in the aforementioned post, @SKizzleAXE even shared a screenshot of the leaked GTA 5 source code, confirming the legitimacy of the report. According to details, Rockstar was also working on what appears to be a sequel to the acclaimed “Bully” video game.
Another report on X claims that the source code was leaked on a Discord server, but its name is not revealed to avoid spreading the data.
A fan who goes by the name “Agent” also shared some of the GTA 5 source code leaks and some images of Rockstar Games’ RAGE engine on X. However, that post has now been deleted.
The source code for Grand Theft Auto 5 was allegedly leaked last year along with leaked footage. However, it has not been made public until now. This is a huge data loss for the developers and could impact current players of the series as well as future players.
Popular online reporter Gaming Detective (@that1detectiv3) also highlighted the potential impact of the leaked source code, which could even cause a delay to Rockstar Games’ upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6.
Rockstar Games has not commented on the leak as of this writing. We would like to ask all fans to appreciate the efforts that the developers have put into the video game and to ensure that the leaked source code does not spread further.
Another developer, Insomniac Games, recently faced a massive data breach that revealed details of an unreleased, fully downloadable Wolverine video game and upcoming titles.
The ongoing GTA 6 controversy and the Insomniac data breach are shaping up to be the worst holiday season not only for developers but also for gamers around the world.
