Catherine and David Hudson pledge a record $10 million donation to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Center (RVH) keep life wild A campaign to support the expansion of cancer centers.
In honor of the family’s extraordinary generosity, the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Center David and Katherine Hudson Regional Cancer Center.
“The people of Simcoe Muskoka will be forever grateful to the Hudson family. This extraordinary gift is a cornerstone of our plan to revolutionize cancer care right here in our backyard,” said RVH President and CEO CEO Gail Hunt said. “In our expanded cancer program, highly trained professionals use cutting-edge technology to provide the best treatments that are personalized, precise, and minimally invasive. It means our friends, neighbors and loved ones can get treatment sooner, go home sooner, recover faster and get back to the lives they love sooner.”
The landmark Hudson gift is the largest in RVH’s history and the largest gift to the hospital in Simcoe Muskoka’s history. David Hudson sadly lost his sister Lara to a rare form of breast cancer at the age of 35. This personal loss was the motivation behind their groundbreaking gift, along with a determination to inspire others to support the hospital’s major expansion efforts.

David Hudson added: “As this region doubles in size, we need to recognize that we need to provide services that ensure RVH and its growth can accommodate it. For everyone with the ability to give, now is the time. is.”

of the foundation keep life wild The campaign is designed to raise $100 million to fund the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Health Center’s planned expansion of its current site in Barrie and the construction of a brand new facility in Innisfil. In addition to the cancer center expansion, larger redevelopment plans will allow RVH to continue to provide excellent patient care while increasing access for area residents for generations to come. The plan will allow RVH to enhance nearly every service it provides, adding more than 240 beds and expanding critical care, operating rooms, neonatal intensive care and critical care.
