Certainly no one could have seen this coming. Philadelphia Flyers winger Nick DesLauriers takes down Toronto Maple Leafs winger Ryan Reaves in an early battle at the Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday night, with both teams set to start the game. I couldn’t get any momentum going.
Deslauriers jumped over the Flyers’ bench, Reeves jumped over the Maple Leafs’ bench, and after an awkward pause, he threw down his glove and snaked to center ice to launch a jubilant kick.

In fact, Reeves had an early advantage on the tilt, forcing Deslauriers to use his weaker left hand, keeping him at a disadvantage. But Deslauriers deftly paced himself, hitting Reeves with a perfectly timed left and going into cover before he could press the button.
This allowed DesLauriers to grapple with his left hand and throw punches with his right, then tagged Reeves a few more times before scoring a takedown, electrifying the Wells Fargo Center crowd.
How wonderful to honor Wayne Simmonds after his retirement?
This was DesLauriers’ fourth fight in the last month. He faced off against Maple Leafs defenseman Simon Benoit in overtime against the Flyers on Feb. 15 and lost in overtime, and has since battled Matt Lempe, Curtis McDiarmid and now Reaves.
Overall, the Deslauriers are currently caught up in something terrible They played 11 games this season and won most of them. As for Reaves, he also played against Rempe recently, but he has only played in five games this season, including this one. He missed much of the early season with a knee injury.
Owen Tippett’s 25th goal of the season came just 18 seconds into the game, giving the Flyers a 1-0 lead.
