The director of Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth has reportedly promised an update that will fix issues with the game’s 60fps performance mode.
When the demo was released last month, players voiced concerns about the sequel’s graphics, particularly pointing out the muddy textures and inconsistent image quality. The game as a whole generally looks gorgeous, but things drop a bit when you play in performance mode.
According to the website, director Naoki Hamaguchi has acknowledged the issue and said a patch is in the works. one more game. “We received a lot of feedback about whether the graphics in performance mode could be improved,” Hamaguchi said.
“We hear your feedback,” he continued, “and we’re currently working on an update patch to improve that,” adding that a release date is “not far away.” In addition to more general graphical improvements, Hamaguchi explains that the patch also addresses issues with unstable lighting. “We’ve heard from players that in certain situations, the lighting on their faces makes some characters’ shadows look very scary. So this is part of the update we’re working on.”
If you don’t mind dropping down to 30fps, the graphics mode plays relatively well, showing off Gaia’s magical greenery in great detail. In our review of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, we said, “Every zone you encounter sparkles with history to discover.”
Now what happens next? After the release of this update, the development team will likely focus on part 3 of this remake trilogy. Hamaguchi previously said that the threequel is “in the same situation today” as Rebirth was when the remake was released. He also hopes the team can stay together after Part 3 is released. that is unfortunate.
