As Drew McIntyre prepares to participate in Survivor Series War Games, an update has been released regarding his contract status with WWE.
McIntyre will team up with Judgment Day at Survivor Series tonight (November 25) to take on Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn in a men’s WarGames match.
As of today, PW Insider Drew McIntyre and WWE believe there is still plenty of time between them and reports that no further contract negotiations are taking place at this time.
PWInsider’s report also lays out potential explanations if the parties don’t reach a new agreement soon in the spring.
Reports suggest that Mr. McIntyre may be interested in taking time off to spend time with his family, especially after the recent death of his wife’s sister.
Although Drew McIntyre lives in America full-time, he is originally from Scotland and may want to spend some time visiting friends and family.
McIntyre’s contract is reportedly due to expire in April 2024, after being extended for some time due to his absence, which is believed to be enough time for the two sides to reach a new agreement.
The report also said there was no ill will between the company and McIntyre.
McIntyre has recently made an on-screen pivot that has some considering a heel turn, most recently to coincide with his upcoming WWE WarGames match Judgment Day at Survivor Series.
