House Republicans yesterday succeeded in passing an amendment that would reduce Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s salary to $1. The Transpiration and Housing and Urban Development Spending Bill of 2024 Amendment was introduced by Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene.
In an impassioned speech, Greene slammed Buttigieg’s performance as transportation secretary.
“Pothole Pete staged a fake bike trip to the White House and used a private plane funded by taxpayers to celebrate the sex methods of certain people.”
🚨BREAKING NEWS: I am proud that my amendment against Pete Buttigieg passed the House.

Greene claims Buttigieg flew on taxpayer-funded planes to go to the LGBTQ awards show.
The Department of Transportation watchdog announced in February that it would audit Buttigieg’s use of FAA private jets. He is believed to have taken similar flights 18 times since becoming transport secretary. The Department of Transportation said the flight cost taxpayers about $42,000.
By comparison, it was previously revealed that former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao took seven flights on FAA-owned planes in 2017.This included a round-trip trip to Europe for her and five staff members. Costs $68,892 alone.
Buttigieg welcomes the planned audit, said at the time“I’m glad this will be independently reviewed to put an end to the misleading narrative.” Bottom line: I primarily fly economy class on commercial flights, and if I fly on government aircraft. When we use , we usually end up saving taxpayers money by doing so.”
“He’s not worth a penny.”
green I wrote to X yesterday (Old Twitter), “Pete Buttigieg isn’t working. It’s all about a fake photoshoot and taxpayer-funded private jet trip to accept an LGBTQ award for him. My I’m glad the amendment passed, but he doesn’t deserve a penny.”
The amendment passed by popular vote, but the entire bill still needs to be approved by the entire House. It is unlikely to be approved by the Democratic-controlled Senate.
Buttigieg has faced consistent criticism from figures on the right during his time as transportation secretary. Given that transportation secretary is not typically a high-profile position in any administration, it’s hard to escape the idea that Mr. Buttigieg’s sexuality may be an underlying factor in the attention he receives.
Mr. Buttigieg has not responded to Mr. Green’s amendment. It was previously revealed that he had visited Ukraine to discuss the war-torn country’s infrastructure.

Chasten Buttigieg throws some shade
But Pete’s husband Chasten seems to have reacted. Last night, he reshared a tweet mocking Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Last month, Green said, “The Earth is spinning at about 1,000 miles per hour. We don’t even know we’re moving. Never let anyone tell you that God isn’t real.” ”
The tweet is reshared By the account Run For Something. It represents organizations that support young Democrats running for office. “Don’t let anyone tell you you don’t deserve to run for office ❤️,” she said in a tweet by Greene, showing that even people with educational challenges can get elected roles. suggested.
