Baldur’s Gate 3 has a lot of different ways to fend off enemies, including some very creative use of the mechanics you have on hand. That is, who among us I haven’t done it Pushed a major boss off a cliff in one turn? Or did Cazador transform before beginning his sacrilegious ascension ritual? Well, it actually could be even stranger than that, and all you need is a suitable corpse.
The corpse of a girl named Victoria is found in Cazador’s palace. As revealed by a note near her corpse, she was bitten by a vampire and died, but not before she lifted a curse that dealt devastating necrotic damage to her assailants. As it turns out, even though she picks up her body and keeps it in her pack so she can break her curse on anyone who gets too close to you, the damage doesn’t stop.
Yes, I get it, it’s a little morbid to run around with a dead girl in your inventory, but hear me out. The battle of Kazadar was really Really, difficult. Well, unless you put cheese on it with Polymorph Strat. This way, all you have to do is have some noble person carry Victoria to her house in secret and charge into battle with her gun blaring. Or is the corpse burning?
You may feel disgusted when you hear this explanation, but I think you won’t feel so disgusted once you see it in action. Thanks to her TikTok user arwenimladris for doing what we couldn’t do.
As you can see, its necrotic damage will quickly attack anyone in your path. Even if that includes random NPCs who are just trying to do a job in the lower city of Baldur’s Gate. To be fair, this city has seen so much shit over the past few hundred years that it’s no surprise that someone is waving around a cursed corpse. An average Tuesday.
Oddly enough, this isn’t the only corpse-based exploit discovered by the Baldur’s Gate 3 fanbase this weekend. As we reported yesterday, some players keep collections of corpses in their camps, so they always have minions on hand for their Necromancer builds. We’re all used to making sure to stock up on potions before heading into battle, but these players are double-checking their corpse collection first. That’s a nice thing.
Sadly, for reasons that are never explained, the number of bodies you can pick up and store on your console is reduced. It’s a shame, but this issue will probably be fixed by the time Baldur’s Gate 3 launches on Xbox later this year.
