The Atlantic Liberal Caucus is calling on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to resign as party leader.
After the Atlantic Freedom Caucus meeting on the morning of Dec. 23, caucus Chair Cody Blois wrote a letter to Prime Minister Trudeau, which he shared on Sunday. Social media by New Brunswick Liberal MP Wayne Long.
“This morning’s discussion centered on the need for you to resign as Liberal Party leader and to allow an urgent process to identify a new leader to replace you,” Blois wrote to Trudeau.

He cited this as one of the reasons for urging Prime Minister Trudeau to resign.
Blois also sent a letter to national caucus chair Brenda Shanahan calling for an emergency caucus meeting in early January to “discuss next steps,” including whether the caucus should elect an interim leader. He said he requested that the meeting be held.
CBC News reached out to MPs Wayne Long and Cody Blois but did not immediately receive a response.
Days before the Alantic caucus, the Ontario Liberal caucus also met and concluded that Trudeau should resign, multiple sources told CBC News.
