The simulated universe theory means that our universe, including all galaxies, planets, and life forms, is a carefully programmed computer simulation. In this scenario, the laws of physics that govern our reality are just algorithms. Our experience is generated by a very sophisticated system of computational processes.
Although simulated universe theories are speculative in nature, they have attracted attention from scientists and philosophers due to their interesting implications. This idea was inspired by the 1999 filmmatrix. ”
The earliest record of the concept that reality is an illusion is in ancient Greece. This raises the question, “What exactly is our reality?”posed by Plato (427 BC) etc. idealism. Idealistic ancient thinkers like Plato considered the mind and spirit to be permanent realities. They argued that matter is only a manifestation or an illusion.
Fast forward to modern times, and idealism has turned into a new philosophy. This is the idea that both the physical world and consciousness are part of a simulated reality. This is just a modern extension of idealism, propelled by recent technological advances in computing and digital technology. In both cases, the essence of reality transcends the physical.
In the scientific community, the concept of a simulated universe has aroused both fascination and skepticism. Some scientists suggest that if our reality is a simulation, there may be flaws or patterns in the structure of the universe that betray its simulated nature.
However, searching for such anomalies remains a challenge. Our understanding of the laws of physics is still evolving. After all, we lack a definitive framework for distinguishing between simulated and non-simulated reality.
new laws of physics
If our physical reality is a simulated construct rather than an objective world that exists independently of the observer, how can we prove this scientifically? 2022 surveyI suggested a possible experiment, but it remains untested to this day.
But there is hope. Information theory is the mathematical study of quantifying, storing, and transmitting information.originally Developed by mathematician Claude Shannonis increasingly popular in physics and used in an increasingly wide range of research fields.
In my recent research, was announced on AIP progress, I used information theory to propose a new physical law that I call the second law of information dynamics. And importantly, it seems to support the simulated universe theory.
Central to the second law of information dynamics is the concept of entropy, a measure of disorder that always increases over time in an isolated system. If you leave a cup of hot coffee on a table, after a while it will reach equilibrium and reach the same temperature as its surroundings. At this point, the entropy of the system is maximum and its energy is minimum.
The second law of information dynamics states that “information entropy” (the average amount of information conveyed by an event) must either remain constant or decrease over time to an equilibrium minimum value. Masu.
Therefore, this completely contradicts the second law of thermodynamics, which states that heat always naturally flows from hotter to colder regions of matter while entropy increases. In the case of cold coffee, that means the probability spread of finding molecules in the liquid is reduced. This is because the spread of available energy decreases in thermal equilibrium. Therefore, information entropy always decreases over time, and entropy increases.
According to my research, the second law of information dynamics seems to have cosmological necessity. It is universally applicable and has great scientific impact. We know that the universe is expanding without loss or gain of heat, but this requires that the total entropy of the universe remains constant. But we also know from thermodynamics that entropy is always increasing. I argue that this shows that another entropy needs to be present to balance the increase: informational entropy.
my law Can be confirmed How genetic information works. But it also shows that, at the most fundamental level, genetic variation is not just a random event. Darwin’s theory suggests that. Instead, genetic mutations occur according to the second law of information dynamics, such that the information entropy of the genome is always minimized. Laws can also explain phenomena in nuclear physics and the time evolution of digital data.
Most interestingly, this new law explains one of nature’s great mysteries. Why does symmetry rather than asymmetry govern the universe? My research shows mathematically that states with high symmetry are the preferred choice because they correspond to the lowest information entropy. is showing. And as stated in the second law of information dynamics, that is what systems naturally strive for.
I believe this discovery will have profound implications for genetic research, evolutionary biology, gene therapy, physics, mathematics, and cosmology, to name a few.
simulation theory
The main consequence of the second law of information dynamics is that the information content associated with any event or process in the universe is minimized. This means optimizing the information content, i.e. the most effective data compression.
Since the second law of information dynamics is a cosmological necessity and appears to apply equally everywhere, this suggests that the entire universe appears to be a simulated construct or a giant computer. We can conclude that.
When a super-complex universe like ours is a simulation, built-in data optimization and compression is required to reduce the computational power and data storage requirements to run the simulation. This is exactly what we observe all around us: digital data, biological systems, mathematical symmetries, and the entire universe.
More research is needed before we can say with certainty that the second law of information dynamics is as fundamental as the second law of thermodynamics. The same applies to the simulated universe hypothesis.
But if both hold up to scrutiny, this will likely be the first time scientific evidence has been produced to support this theory. in my recent book.
