Updated 11/7: Apple has published fixes for these battery issues Equipped with watchOS 10.1.1. Available for Apple Watch Series 4 or later.
Original story 11/6:
After Apple released watchOS 10.1, users began reporting a significant impact on their Watch’s battery life. It’s not just the latest Apple Watch model. Older models have the same issue. The good news is that Apple has acknowledged the issue and plans to distribute a fix.
as 9to5Mac’s notes, you can find reports of reduced battery life on Reddit and Apple’s support forums. Some users have reported a 25% drop in battery life after just 30 minutes, while others have reported that the watch died completely after his 3 hours. This is significantly less than the Apple Watch Series 9’s claimed battery life of 18 hours.
In our review, we noted that the Apple Watch delivers on its battery promise despite having a much brighter screen than previous models. However, that was before watchOS 10.1 was released. The latest update introduced double tap, a highly anticipated feature, but it’s unclear if that’s the cause of the issue. Apple claims that thanks to the latest processors, only the Series 9 and Ultra 2 models can handle double taps without compromising battery life. So, in theory, it shouldn’t be a problem, especially since even older models had battery damage.
Unfortunately, Apple has reportedly acknowledged this issue, but only in an internal memo sent to Apple Authorized Service Providers. The note does not provide details about the issue or a timeline for when Apple will release a fix. For now, all we have to go on is the promise of “coming soon.”

It’s also unclear how many Watch owners will be affected by the buggy update. If you count yourself among them, there’s no need to take your Apple Watch to the Apple Store for now.Just wait for the upcoming patch
