Apple may be releasing another iPad soon, and new rumors say it will be an iPad Air, but larger than the current model.new report from digitimes Aside from the iPad Pro, the company says it will introduce the iPad Air, which has the largest screen of any iPad to date.
It was predicted that Apple would announce a new iPad earlier this week, but this turned out to be false. Instead, Apple announced a new, more affordable Apple Pencil.
According to DigiTimes, industry sources predict that the new Air will have a 12.9-inch display. That would make it the same size as the larger iPad Pro, although other rumors suggest a new iPad Pro could arrive next year with a slightly larger 13-inch display.
This is not surprising. The smaller iPad Pro has an 11-inch display, while the iPad Air’s screen is just a tenth of an inch smaller at 10.9 inches. Therefore, even if the iPad Air with a 12.9-inch display arrives, the screen difference will remain in the future 13-inch iPad Pro.
So what are the chances of this proposed larger iPad Air? Well, earlier this year, Apple announced its first larger MacBook Air, a 13-inch laptop plus a 15-inch screen, to great success. I got it. The larger Air could also be a good addition to the tablet series.
Of course, when such an iPad Air arrives, it will make a difference. For example, the miniLED backlight found on the larger Pro won’t appear on the larger Air, instead relying on the same LCD screen technology found on the smaller Air.
When will such an iPad Air appear? There are a lot of contradictory rumors here and there. Analyst Mng-Chi Kuo says that this year he won’t be updating the iPad (and claims that other products won’t be updated either). This marks the first calendar year in which Apple hasn’t released at least one iPad since the first iPad was introduced in 2010. Therefore, I don’t really believe in this theory.
Bloomberg’s Mark Garman said Apple tends to launch the iPad the month after the iPhone, but he doesn’t believe that will happen this year. In that case, the iPad Air will not be released in October. Gourmand also says“I don’t think a significant update is imminent.” In my opinion, this is a significant update, so we’ll likely be waiting for a while.
I’m a little unsure. First of all, I think there will be a new iPad this year. Probably the new regular iPad and the new 10.9-inch iPad Air. It’s been 18 months since the last Air, and this tends to be Apple’s recommended release frequency for this tablet. If Apple is going to release these this year, it shouldn’t be any later than early November to get the most out of your holiday preparations. This probably means Apple will announce them within the next two weeks and launch them the week after that.
Could there be another super-sized Air? We can quickly see that Apple will need to announce new products quickly in order to get them to customers by mid-November.
