Tesla’s CEO denied suggestions that his drug use could affect investor perception.
Elon Musk has defended taking prescribed ketamine to treat his “negative mindset” and suggested his use of ketamine is a good thing for Tesla investors.
In a sometimes tense interview with former CNN host Don Lemon, Musk said he feels anesthetics can be helpful when suffering from a “negative chemical state.”
“Sometimes you get depression that isn’t related to negative news, and that’s when ketamine helps you get out of that negative mindset,” Musk said in an interview published Monday.
Asked if he had ever abused drugs, Musk, who owns Company X and runs Tesla and SpaceX, said he didn’t think so, saying he only took “small amounts” about once every two weeks. I answered that.
“If you take too much ketamine, you can’t get a job and I have a lot of work. Usually I work 16 hours a day. That’s normal for me,” Musk said. Ta.
“We can’t really let the work go to waste because it’s not done,” he added.

Musk also dismissed suggestions that his drug use could affect his government contracts or the perception of Wall Street investors.
“Tesla is worth about the same as the rest of the auto industry combined, even from scratch. That’s pretty good. Last year, it was the best-selling car on the planet. So from an investor perspective So, if there’s something I’m taking, I need to continue taking it,” he said.
Musk added that he thought ketamine, which doctors can prescribe to treat depression and pain, could help others and had discussed using it in the past.
The 52-year-old billionaire also talked about meeting former US President Donald Trump in March, which he said came about after the Republican candidate made an impromptu visit to a friend’s house.
“President Trump likes to talk. So we talked. I don’t remember him saying anything that he hasn’t said publicly,” Musk said, adding that Trump doesn’t accept political contributions or other financial support. He added that he didn’t ask for it.
Musk said he may support a candidate in the “final stages” of November’s presidential election, but has not made a decision yet.
The South African-born naturalized U.S. citizen said he is not leaning toward the candidate but is “away” from U.S. President Joe Biden.
X announced a content partnership with Lemon in January, but Musk abruptly canceled “The Don Lemon Show” last week before the first episode aired.
Lemon said that his interview with Musk included a tense exchange regarding hate speech against Company X, but that the Tesla CEO’s stated commitment to free speech was “reduced by people like me.” It does not appear to include questions about Mr. Musk.”
Musk later told X that Lemon’s approach was “basically just ‘CNN but on social media'” and “lacks credibility.”
