WrestleMania 40 has been made into a book! The beginning of the Triple H era! Stephanie McMahon is back on the team! Cody Rhodes has finished his story! So much happened on Saturday and Sunday night that it’s very difficult to summarize everything. Still, I thought I’d give you a quick rundown of the 10 best moments from this year’s Showcase of the Immortals.
First, let’s take a quick bow and recognize two unofficial heroes of Mania Weekend. first? Well, it’s simple. Head like a pig. The pig begins to blur. Terrible style. March of the… Pig, it’s okay as is. Pig. Well, it’s right in the name.
Anyway…it is Peppa Pig from Nine Inch Nails!
I don’t understand the story behind this at all. I don’t want to know either. There is no truly best context. The only information to glean here is that this little sow has about 400 episodes under her belt, and on top of that, she has fucking great taste in music.
The second uncrowned champion of Mania 40?
Announcer Samantha Irvin. He might be the best announcer this company has ever seen. Not only did we get to stand in the ring with her as she announced the title match with passionate professionalism and effortless enthusiasm, but Irvin intentionally didn’t. As in, you could hear her legitimately choke up at the end and announce Cody as the winner. Knowing the outcome of a match in advance allows them to express their true emotions when called upon.

Now on to the 10 best moments from WrestleMania 40…
10. Bayley’s big win
Carried into the ring (by at least one person who will probably be world champion in five years), Bayley is enticed by Isis, the Egyptian goddess who symbolizes healing, rebirth, and expelling the sarcasm from her former best friend. I dressed up.
Bayley made the most of her big win at the Rumble, defeating Iyo Sky to become the new WWE Women’s Champion. While Corey Graves spends about half the match Googling which San Jose parks have Egyptian players, Bayley slams Iyo’s head into the mat and gets a 1-2-3!
9. Rock and Roman walk tall at night 1
You can’t make fun of a Bloodline Rules match on night two without playing it. This meant that Herro Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins had to be eliminated on night one.
And since Seth ended up being the double (or even triple?) loser over the weekend, it was Cody who got the pin after a hellish match that included a People’s Elbow and a 30-minute entrance. And since it was The Rock who made the pin, everyone is now wondering if Roman is about to be kicked out of his own group and relegated to the kids’ table.
8. Entrance of Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill and Naomi
As always, WrestleMania was filled from top to bottom with iconic entrances. But on a show that featured Motionless in White performing Rhea Ripley in the ring, Seth Rollins’ Mummers Parade, and The Rock’s Brahma Bull Firing, Bianca, Jade, and Naomi I went up on a pedestal and watched some radical X-Men. Coding, it won an award.
Granted, the three of them didn’t get individual admission, which may have been to save time on a show that was supposed to have a main event that lasted over an hour, but the compromise here… As a result, this trio felt even more legendary.
7. Undertaker’s shortest WrestleMania entrance in history
Fans had theorized that John Cena and Stone Cold would help save Cody at WrestleMania (because a Raw production truck with their faces painted on it was placed during Cody’s beatdown two weeks earlier). ) can take solace in the fact that they were half right. Cena showed up to dispose of Solo Chicore, and Undertaker, not Steve Austin, arrived on the scene to punch The Rock.
Now, what Stone said obviously would have made more sense. Jey Uso took out Jimmy. Cena is in charge of Solo (who had a feud with him last year and had a losing match), and The Rock’s ultimate nemesis, his reflection would be Austin. But even though Taker didn’t have a major storyline or feud with The Rock, it was still great to hear “GONG!” and watch him arrive in the ring (probably having spent the previous hour under the ring).
6. Crazy Pills
Towards the end of Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns’ Bloodline Rules match, The Shield’s old entrance music hit! Weird shield!
But Roman was in the ring. And Seth…well, he had lost earlier that night (and the night before). Of course this is impossible…
Yes, for about 30 seconds, we all thought that somehow Dead Ambrose (currently signed to AEW) was going to walk through the entire WrestleMania 40 stadium crowd. Yes, we have all collectively gone crazy. It’s not the madness of the two of them. Folie à deux. But it’s like a Folly from the ’70s.
5.Human Shield
It turns out that The Shield’s music was by Seth Rollins, who also worked on Triple Duty. And got his ass kicked three times.
At first this seemed like a failure. Not only us, do not have Seth could be seen heading to the ring in his old Shield costume, but was quickly taken down after going through the ropes with a chair. It almost felt like an awkward fan run-in.
But then Seth’s “best laid plans” began to work. Throughout this entire “Road to WrestleMania,” Seth has been dedicated to stopping Roman and Bloodline. Even though he knows he’s too thin. Even when he said it was stupid for Drew McIntyre to have a tag team match before facing Drew on night one. And Seth lost the tag team match. And I lost to Drew. But in the end, it was Seth who put the nail in Roman’s coffin. Filled with hatred for his old running buddy, the champion took his eyes off Cody to recreate his famous round-the-world chair shot. That was the break Cody needed to get the pin and win.
4. Mami Tops Becky
Even though Becky Lynch showed up looking like her own New York Times bestseller (which was kind of sleazy), Rhea Ripley was a clean sweep and won. According to the announcer, Becky was battling strep throat and a fever of 103 degrees (though it felt like 46 degrees), so that will definitely be part of the story going forward, but Becky was sick. If that happens, there will be a modest uproar, but it’s because of her dear, dear daughter, for whom she should have been fighting.
Despite this, Rhea grounded Becky and held the Women’s World Championship for an entire WrestleMania cycle, ignoring the usual traditions of heels. But an argument could be made that Rhea is not a heel, as Rhea and Damian Priest seem to be not only the pinnacle of Judgment Day, but also the dark bastion of integrity within the group.
3. I drew for a day
Drew McIntyre got what he wanted. what he wanted.what is he prayed for. He won the World Championship in front of a sold-out crowd at WrestleMania. A packed stadium. During the 2020 pandemic lockdown, it wasn’t an empty studio. I didn’t have to say “thank you” to everyone watching from home.
Not only did he get a big win over Seth Rollins, but he also got to be right about Seth burning the candle at both ends. About Seth being too distracted by Bloodline to focus on Drew.
But with a perfect monkey’s paw flip, Drew’s moment of glory will be short-lived…
2. First hunch
After gloating for too long in front of CM Punk, Drew is attacked by Punk and…
… took advantage of Drew’s weakness to cash in on his MITB contract and lost to Damian Priest, who exited as WWE World Champion. Just when you thought The Judgment Day was done as a stable, they keep getting bigger and stronger, with Priest and crew continuing to reign supreme as Raw’s main heel (tweener?) stable. Sho. Unless Finn realizes he’s the jealous type and does the same thing he did to Edge two years ago.
1. “The Story” Cody Rhodes
Cody nailing The Rock on night one set up a big win for Cody on night two. But that didn’t make me feel special. At the best moment of his career. Cody ended Roman Reigns’ record-breaking title run and became the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. The title includes, in an intricate mosaic, the WWF Heavyweight Championship, which Cody’s father never won.
It was a big enough moment to bring wife Brandi Rhodes in front of the WWE cameras and now make her canon. What is Cody waiting for now that she’s “finished her own story”? Let’s all find out on this week’s Raw!
